VOCATION AWARENESS Jesus said, “As the Father loves me, so I also love you” and “This I command you: love one another.” (John 15) It’s the ultimate love story. Jesus also says in this way his joy will be in us and our joy will be complete. This love applies to any way of life we are called to follow: married life, single life, ordained or religious life. Each requires us to love one another as God loves us. Let us pray that each of us accepts God’s invitation to find our complete joy. INACTIVE CATHOLICS
Who are they: Today, more than 20,000,000 baptized Catholics in he United States are no longer active in the life of the Catholic Church. The Gallup Organization (2005) reports that about 1/4 of Catholics interviewed do not actively participate in a parish. The magnitude of this number is more apparent when we realize that inactive Catholics make up the second largest "denomination" in the US. Nevertheless, they remain our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Almost every Catholic who participates in a parish knows at least one person who is an inactive Catholic. They are family members, relatives, co-workers, and friends. Yet for a number of reasons, we are generally reluctant to talk to them about faith. By extending an invitation, we act in love and help them feel welcome. Through our caring and attentive presence, people will experience God's own abundant love for them.
USED CLOTHING DROP-OFF BOX
It is that time of year when we put away our winter clothes and dig out the summer clothes. As you empty drawers and closets, please consider donating those gently worn items to the St. Pauly Box at Sacred Heart or Saint Ann's. Those items you no longer want to wear can be used to help those in need here in the USA and in 3rd World Countries.
All clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, pillowcases and drapes are accepted. Please put items in tied plastic bags. (10/10)

STEPHEN MINISTRY
Please continue to pray for our Stephen Ministers as they learn key skills in order to become better caregivers. They recently completed Session Twelve-Using Mental Health Professionals and Other Community Resources. What happen when a care receiver needs a different kind of care or a higher level of care than a Stephen Minister is qualified to provide? The Stephen Minister works with our Stephen Leaders to connect the person with a professional care giver who is able to meet the person's needs. Our Stephen Ministers take a look at what other types of care giving are available and at the limits to their care giving. This will prepare our Stephen Ministers to refer care receivers to the appropriate caregiver should the need arise.
